7 September 1999 - Into the Dragon's Lair free public lecture Adelaide, South Australia
The Threatened Species Network (SA) and Dragon Search (SA) would like to invite you to attend a free public lecture, entitled ‘Into the Dragon’s Lair’ to be held at The Armoury Building, South Australian Museum (behind the main entrance building) at 7pm on 7 September, 1999. The lecture is being held in association with National Threatened Species Day 1999.
The lecture will be presented by Mr Tony Flaherty, SA Dragon Search Co-coordinator and State Coordinator for the Marine and Coastal Community Network and will focus on the two species of seadragon found in southern Australia and the community-based seadragon monitoring program, Dragon Search.
National Threatened Species Day is held on 7 September each year and is used to highlight the plight of Australia’s threatened species and to encourage the community to become involved in recovery actions in their local area. The theme for National Threatened Species Day 1999 in South Australia is ‘The Leafy Seadragon - the Land and Sea Connection’.
We hope you will be able to attend the evening and learn about this fascinating creature and this innovative community program. The Dragon Search (SA) display and information about the program, including seadragon sighting forms, will be available to participants on the night.
